Our client is a respected and professional accounting and financial services firm based in the beautiful town of Moruya on the South Coast of New South Wales. They provide a range of taxation, accounting, and business advisory services for individuals and small to medium-sized businesses.

Due to their success and growth plans, they seek a full-time Graduate Accountant with 1-2 years of experience to join their team. The office hours are from Monday to Friday from 8.30 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. Flexibility exists for start and finish times can be considered if required.

The key objective of the Graduate Accountant position is to grow your accounting skills and experience and to provide business taxation and advisory services to our clients (compliance, financial reporting, tax, GST, FBT, tax planning).

You are keen to progress your career in accounting, complete your CA status, learn about taxation and accounting skills and complexities, and gain confidence in this client-facing role.

You understand the practice of billable hours, are ambitious to make your mark, and think commercially regarding account management and growth. You are methodical and accurate in your approach and confident in asking for help when needed.

You enjoy working as part of a close-knit team and love the local community and lifestyle.

About the Job

  • Learning about client portfolio management by planning, delivering key services as agreed, maintaining fiscal files, records and documentation, liaising with the ATO and other governing or statutory bodies as required.

  • Working in conjunction with the highly experienced Accountants to provide solutions to problems, monitor and analyse accounting data, and produce financial reports or statements.

  • Accounting jobs are completed on time and on budget. Ensuring that all processes, policies, and procedures meet quality control standards and that compliance and accuracy are guaranteed.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's in Accounting, Commerce or equivalent.

  • Minimum of 1-2 years' experience in an accounting practice.

  • Experience with the Xero accounting software.
