Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced
Network Engineer
to join our team in Australia. As a Network Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our network infrastructure to ensure high performance, security, and reliability. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to support both internal and external network needs, troubleshoot network issues, and optimize network performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and maintain scalable, secure, and efficient network infrastructure, including LANs, WANs, firewalls, and VPNs.
  • Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues, ensuring optimal network uptime and performance.
  • Perform routine network maintenance, including software updates, patches, and configuration changes.
  • Configure and manage network devices such as routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
  • Implement and monitor network security measures, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and VPN solutions.
  • Collaborate with IT teams to design and support internal network solutions, including server and storage infrastructure.
  • Provide technical support for network-related issues and resolve escalated problems from end-users or other teams.
  • Document network configurations, processes, and troubleshooting steps for future reference.
  • Stay up to date with the latest networking technologies and trends, and apply best practices to improve network performance and security.
  • Assist in planning and executing network upgrades and expansions to meet business needs.

Requirements:

  • Education:
    Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Network Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience:
    2+ years of experience in network engineering or network administration.
  • Proficiency in network protocols and technologies such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, HTTP, and VPNs.
  • Hands-on experience with network hardware including routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers.
  • Familiarity with network monitoring tools such as SolarWinds, Wireshark, or Nagios.
  • Experience with network security concepts and tools, including firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection systems.
  • Understanding of cloud networking and hybrid cloud architectures.
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills, with the ability to resolve network issues quickly and effectively.
  • Knowledge of scripting or automation tools (e.g., Python, Bash, Ansible) is a plus.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

  • Experience with SDN (Software-Defined Networking) or network virtualization.
  • Knowledge of wireless networking technologies (Wi-Fi, 802.11, etc.).
  • Experience with cloud services such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Familiarity with disaster recovery and business continuity planning.
