As a Childcare Cook, your core responsibilities will include the following:

  • Comply with all relevant legislation, early childhood regulations, policies, procedures, and work guidelines.
  • Prepare and cook nutritious meals that are culturally appropriate for children 0-6 years, following our nutritionally crafted menu and recipes.
  • Provide for/or supplement alternative foods/beverages for children with allergies or special food/dietary requirements.
  • Prepare weekly stock take and ordering.
  • Maintain and ensure a high level of cleanliness and hygiene such as cleaning and washing.
  • Ensure all meals and snacks are ready by the time specified by the Director.

What we are looking for:

  • Previous experience in cooking for large groups of children aged 0-6 years (desirable)
  • Relevant Commercial Cookery/Hospitality qualifications and food handling certificates, including (SITSS00069) Food Safety Supervision Skill Set
  • A current Working with Children Check
  • Basic training in Food Safety and Nutrition
  • Experience in preparing and cooking nutritiously balanced meals
