We are currently recruiting for a Casual role for a Catering Assistant to join the Spotless team located at Villawood Immigration Centre, Sydney.  Spotless, as a subcontractor to Secure Journeys, will be responsible for preparing and serving culturally diverse, nutritious meals contributing to the overall health and well-being of those in the centres. 

The role has a broad remit, with key responsibilities outlined below: 

  • Assemble, prepare, and produce food requirements as directed by the Chef Manager/Head Chef. 

  • Cleaning the food preparation and consumption areas, cooking equipment and utensils. 

  • Ensure compliance with the HACCP Food Safety Plan, monitoring food safety standards and practices, maintaining hygiene in food preparation areas, and completing all Food Safety Documentation accurately and timely. 

  • Ensure all kitchen equipment is operated following safe work procedures, maintained in a clean and safe condition. 

 What you'll bring 

  • Must have Cert II – Kitchen Operations or higher

  • Food Safety Certificates

  • Previous experience in a commercial kitchen environment 

  • Full understanding of HACCP Food Safety guidelines 

  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities 

  • Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills
