About the Role
We're looking for an experienced HR Manager to lead our local HR function in Australia and play a key role in shaping our people strategy as the organization continues to grow. This is a great opportunity for a dynamic HR professional who can think strategically, roll up their sleeves, and get things done. This role is perfect for an all-round HR professional who enjoys balancing strategic initiatives with hands-on execution in a fast-evolving environment. You partner closely with leadership to support engagement, culture and performance, while coordinating with specialized teams (e.g., Payroll, Benefits) as needed to resolve employee inquiries.
Location - Sydney, NSW (North Sydney) - Hybrid, in office on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday plus additional days as required
What You'll be Doing
- Lead and execute all aspects of the local HR function — from daily operations to strategic people initiatives — as the organization scales.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to managers and employees across Australia, providing expert guidance on HR policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Partner with leaders to manage employee relations cases, including performance management, disciplinary actions, conflict resolution, and organizational design.
- Oversee the end-to-end employee lifecycle, from offer to hire and onboarding, working closely with cross-functional teams to deliver a seamless experience.
- Maintain HRIS data integrity and personnel records and generate meaningful insights to support data-driven decision-making.
- Conduct exit interviews and collaborate with leadership on employee engagement and retention initiatives.
- Champion culture and change management, supporting communication, engagement, and team-building efforts
- Handle employee relations cases with sound judgment, empathy, and a balance between people care and business needs.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with global HR, finance, and operations teams to align on processes and share best practices.
- Adapt quickly and pitch in where needed — from designing policies to managing day-to-day queries and administrative tasks.
- Contribute to HR projects and initiatives as needed to support business goals and foster a high-performing culture.
- Other duties as required.
- 5-8 years of progressive HR experience, ideally supporting fast-scaling or high-growth technology organizations
- Strong understanding of Australian employment laws, HR policies, and best practices.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build trust at all levels.
- A strategic mindset combined with hands-on execution capability.
- Passionate about creating an inclusive, engaging, and high-performance work culture.
- Proficiency with Dayforce or other enterprise HRIS
- Authentic customer-service mindset and a passion for creating an exceptional employee experience
- Alignment with our core values: Curiosity, Integrity, Kindness, Humility, and Builders and commitment to fostering these values across teams
- We are a collaborative, kind, and curious community
- We prioritize your work/life balance offering a hybrid work environment and free in-office lunches throughout the week
- We reward your work with opportunity for growth and advancement
- Grow personally and together with one of the fastest growing companies globally
- Develop your skills through our renowned training platform
- Receive competitive compensation
- Collaborate with an amazing international workforce
