Senior Bookkeeper – Part-Time (16–24 hrs/week)

Employment Type: Part-Time (Full-Time option is negotiable for the right candidate if desired)

Lighthouse Engineering is a leading structural steel fabrication company based in Wangara, WA. We're seeking a highly experienced and detail-oriented Senior Bookkeeper to join our dynamic Accounts team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about maintaining financial accuracy and supporting business operations.

About the Role

As our Senior Bookkeeper, you'll play a pivotal role in managing end-to-end financial operations. You'll work closely with our accounts team and external accountant to ensure smooth financial processes, accurate reporting, and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage full bookkeeping functions including EOM, BAS, IAS, STP, payroll tax, superannuation, and management reporting
  • Maintain accurate financial records: invoices, purchase orders, AP/AR, bank statements, retentions
  • Reconcile accounts and resolve discrepancies using MYOB AccountRight
  • Process journal entries and general ledger transactions
  • Prepare and analyze financial reports: income statements, balance sheets, cash flow
  • Fortnightly payroll processing for wages and salaried staff and EOY Payroll Processes including STP Final Events
  • Monitor expenses and ensure budget compliance
  • Assist with audit preparation and tax filings
  • Collaborate with the accountant on quarterly and annual financials
  • Provide financial insights to support decision-making
  • Support HR with employee records and general admin tasks

What We're Looking For

Essential Skills & Qualifications:

  • Minimum 8 years' experience in bookkeeping or accounting
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
  • Proficiency in MYOB AccountRight and intermediate-level Excel
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Certificate IV in Bookkeeping or higher (BAS Agent, Accounting/Finance degree preferred)
  • Self-motivated, collaborative, and detail-oriented
