We're seeking
a motivated and safety-conscious Mowing Hand (Truck Driver) to
support the delivery of high-quality horticultural services across Council's
parks and gardens. You'll play a key role in maintaining and presenting our
landscapes to the highest standards.

Banyule City Council boasts a wealth of open space
and parklands, featuring both exotic and native vegetation of historical and
environmental significance. The Parks and Gardens department oversees the care
and development of Over 200 parks and reserves, 50 sports fields, 163
playgrounds, more than 75,000 street trees, an extensive shared trail network,
and a wide range of park furniture and assets that enrich the urban landscape.

environment while working in a dynamic and supportive team. You'll get to work
in the great outdoors, enjoy a variety of works, working Monday to Friday from 7.00am
to 3.56pm.

As the Mowing
Hand (Truck Driver), you'll:

  • Operate Out Front Mower and
    associated equipment as required on various tasks and projects
  • Undertake basic horticultural
    maintenance not requiring any advanced botanical knowledge including
    cultivation, watering, pruning (ground level street and parks), weeding,
    mulching, fertilising, mowing, spraying, planting, chipper operation,
    chainsaw operation and hedge trimming.
  • Report any unsafe or abnormal
    occurrences within council's streets parks and reserves.

What
you'll bring/what we are looking for:

  • A demonstrated commitment to our
    values.
  • Demonstrated high level customer
    focused approach.
  • Safe and competent driving of
    vehicles up to 13.9 tonnes GCM with a current Medium Rigid driver's
    licence.
  • Demonstrated experience
    in operating Out Front Mowers competently, and safe and competent
    operation of light mechanical plant including brush cutter, blower, edger,
    hand mower, additional experience with hedge trimmers. chain saw, post
    hole digger would be desirable.
  • Previous experience working
    effectively in a team environment.

Pre-employment
requirements:

  • Current
    Medium Rigid driver's licence.
  • Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check
  • Functional Capacity Assessment
