Your Opportunity
The Way Back Program is a non-clinical support service focused on providing rapid, practical psychosocial support and intervention to consumers experiencing suicidal distress or following a suicide attempt.
We're looking for passionate and driven Team Leader to join this valuable new service designed to reach and support communities who may not typically engage with the health system.
You will provide supervision, guidance and support to a team of Care Coordinators and Peer Workers in Dubbo, Orange and Walgett, as well as being responsible for auditing of case notes, ensuring quality care and support, reviewing risk and safety plans and ongoing reporting functions.

Your key responsibilities will be to:
- Lead and provide guidance to the team ensuring effective and responsive service delivery to clients in crisis.
- Provide regular supervision, mentoring, and professional support to staff
- Respond to referrals of clients to the service from internal and external support service, and coordinate and conduct formal assessments of suitability for support
- Monitor and undertake initial intakes and assessments for clients, including all necessary paperwork and assessment tools
- Support the team to work with clients to create holistic and strength-based individualized safety plans and care plans including referral to supplementary services as needed.
- Assist clients in the process of transitioning out of the service into independence or other services including developing capacity to self-manage and access required support independently.
- Undertake a range of program support including completion of internal and external reports relating to clients including case management statistics, feedback summaries and other relevant reports.
- Develop strong partnerships and relationships with internal and external stakeholders including other service providers, networking in partnership to education and employment and networks
Requirements for Success
- Relevant degree with relevant experience or other appropriate qualifications or experience acceptable to Mission Australia
- Demonstrated experience in a leadership capacity, working within the community services sector and/or with clients from a variety of different backgrounds and levels of disadvantage
- Experience providing supervision and coaching to employees including providing expert advice to employees at lower levels
- A sound understanding of mental health and suicidality, mental health systems and recovery
- oriented practice, as well as psycho-social rehabilitation.
- Experience working within regional and remote communities and/or a sound understanding of the communities and demographics.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders.
- A Current Driver's Licence
- Current First Aid and CPR Certificate
Before starting work with us, you will need to undertake a national police history check, qualifications, and referee checks, and have a clearance to work with children/vulnerable people.
