The Motor Mechanic (General) will be responsible for carrying out inspection, maintenance, and repair of light and heavy vehicles used in the company's transport operations. The role involves diagnosing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults using advanced diagnostic tools, dismantling and reassembling engines and components, repairing and replacing defective parts, and conducting performance tests to ensure vehicles operate safely and efficiently. The mechanic will perform routine servicing, including oil changes, brake and clutch adjustments, and engine tuning, while maintaining detailed records of all repairs and services completed. The position also requires monitoring vehicle performance, identifying potential mechanical issues before they cause major failures, and ensuring all maintenance work complies with Australian safety and environmental regulations. The mechanic will liaise with management to plan repairs, order replacement parts, and maintain the workshop's cleanliness and organisation. Strong problem-solving ability, precision, and attention to detail are essential, as the mechanic plays a key role in ensuring the company's fleet remains roadworthy, reliable, and compliant with legal standards.
