About the Role:

As a Casual Support Worker, you will provide essential in-home and community-based support to older adults through the CHSP. You will empower individuals to maintain their independence and well-being by assisting with daily living tasks, fostering community participation, and building capacity.

Locations: Melbourne Metropolitan and Regional Victoria

Essential Education, Qualifications, Certifications

• Minimum Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing) or Certificate IV in Ageing Support.

• HLTAID011 Provide First Aid (including CPR).

• Current NDIS Worker Clearance.

• Completion of the NDIS Worker Orientation Module.

• Current Working with Children Check (WWCC).

• Deafness Awareness and Communication Training (DACT).

• Current Driver's License: Must be valid with current registration and full comprehensive or third-party insurance.

Essential Experience and Skills

• Community Navigation: Proven experience and awareness in navigating the wider community to support clients effectively.

• Diverse Client Support: Demonstrated experience working with individuals facing various challenges, including mental health conditions, additional disabilities, non-English speaking backgrounds, and advanced age.

• Interpersonal & Conflict Resolution: Excellent skills in building rapport and resolving conflicts constructively.

• Legislative Understanding: Strong understanding of relevant legislation, including but not limited to:

o Aged Care Act 1997

o Aged Care Quality Standards

o Aged Care and Quality Commission Act 2018

o Quality of Care Principles 2014

o Disability Act 2006

o DHHS Standards 2012

o NDIS Code of Conduct

o NDIS Act 2013 & NDIS Rules

• Compliance Awareness: Understanding of Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO), Occupational Health and Safety (OHS), privacy, and confidentiality principles.
