About the role

Building Independence Community Services Inc. is seeking an enthusiastic and compassionate Disability Support Worker to join our team in Slacks Creek, Queensland. As a casual role, you will be responsible for providing personalised, high-quality care and support to individuals with a range of disabilities, helping them to live independently and achieve their goals.

What you'll be doing

  • Assisting clients with their daily living activities, such as personal care, meal preparation, and household tasks
  • Facilitating access to community resources and supporting clients to participate in social and recreational activities
  • Ensuring their individual needs are met
  • Maintaining detailed records
  • Collaborating with other members of the care team to ensure a coordinated and holistic approach
  • Providing a safe and nurturing environment for all clients

What we're looking for

  • A genuine passion for supporting individuals with disabilities and a commitment to empowering them to live with independence and dignity
  • Relevant qualifications, such as a Certificate III or IV in Disability Support or a similar field
  • Experience in the disability services sector, preferably in a similar role
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and work effectively with clients, families, and colleagues
  • A flexible and adaptable approach, able to respond to the unique needs of each client
  • A valid driver's licence and access to a reliable vehicle
