About the roleThe City of Sydney has an exciting opportunity to join our dynamic team as a casual Audio Operator at the Sydney Town Hall.
This role is key for the delivery of our Audio services for events in the Sydney Town Hall and other City Venues, delivering a broad range of expert technical services for concerts and other events and ensuring the provision of high-end technical production service delivery for clients and hirers. Roles in this casual pool also include FOH operators, monitor operators, wireless microphone technicians and audio stage technicians.
We're looking for candidates with:
- minimum of 5 years professional technical experience working within the live production, corporate or events industry, preferably within a performing arts venue, convention centre or similar venue
- demonstrated experience for the role including setup and operation of audio equipment such as Midas, Yamaha and Digico consoles, complex installed audio systems, knowledge of Dante and MADI protocols and D&B PA systems (including R1), Q-SYS system operation and networking management
- demonstrated experience in setting up, fitting and managing wireless microphone systems using tools such as wireless workbench
- ability to read and interpret production and operational requirements, production schedules and safety plans, ability to work autonomously and effectively manage time, meet deadlines, balance competing priorities under broad direction using judgement to make decisions as required.
