We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented 
Finance Officer

to support our finance and administration operations in a permanent full time role.

About the Role

In this role, you will be responsible for processing Medicare, DVA, health fund, and third-party billings, managing patient accounts, and supporting the managemenet team with accounts receivable, accounts payable, and reconciliations. You will also work closely with our administrative and clinical teams to ensure smooth billing processes and an excellent experience for patients and referrers.

Key ResponsibilitiesBilling & Revenue Processes

  • Accurately prepare, check, and lodge claims with Medicare, DVA, health funds, and other third-parties
  • Investigate and resolve declined or short-paid claims, including coordinating resubmissions
  • Maintain compliance by ensuring all billing activities are completed promptly and correctly

Communication & Coordination

  • Act as a key contact for patients, specialists, referrers, and funding bodies regarding account matters
  • Work closely with administration, management, and clinical teams to capture accurate billing information

Finance & Administrative Support

  • Contribute to accounts receivable by monitoring and following up on unpaid invoices
  • Assist with accounts payable and other routine financial administration tasks
  • Support the preparation of reconciliations and assist with end-of-month or ad hoc reporting

Qualifications & Experience

Required:

  • Minimum 2 years' experience in billing, finance, or accounts administration
  • Familiarity with Medicare, DVA, and health fund billing processes
  • Competence with practice or finance systems

Desirable:

  • Previous experience in healthcare administration or medical reception
  • Knowledge of accounts receivable/payable and reconciliations
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Outlook)
