Position Overview

TVH is seeking a strategic and hands-on Fleet Controller to lead the operational management of our national fleet. This is a pivotal role in our service delivery network, responsible for ensuring our fleet is safe, efficient, compliant, and scalable to meet growing business demands.

You'll be the key interface between Operations, Maintenance, Finance, and Compliance — driving performance, cost control, and continuous improvement across all aspects of fleet management.

Key Responsibilities

Fleet Operations & Scheduling

  • Monitor vehicle utilisation, availability and performance metrics.
  • Coordinate with service teams to ensure timely and efficient job completion.

Maintenance & Compliance

  • Oversee preventative maintenance schedules and ensure timely servicing.
  • Ensure compliance with road safety, registration and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage relationships with external providers for repairs, inspections and upgrades.

Fleet Systems & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate records of vehicle movements, servicing, fuel usage and incidents.
  • Analyse fleet data to identify cost-saving opportunities and operational risks.
  • Support budgeting and forecasting for fleet-related expenses.

Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Partner with Finance to manage leasing, insurance, and asset tracking.
  • Work closely with Operations to align fleet capacity with service demand.
  • Engage with suppliers and contractors to ensure service quality and responsiveness.

Continuous Improvement

  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance fleet efficiency.
  • Support the adoption of fleet management technologies and automation.
  • Contribute to sustainability initiatives and vehicle transition planning.

Skills & Experience

Essential:

  • Proven experience in fleet management or logistics coordination, ideally with large-scale fleets.
  • Strong understanding of transport regulations, vehicle maintenance and scheduling systems.
  • High attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Proficiency in fleet management software and Microsoft Office tools.

Desirable:

  • Exposure to compliance frameworks and audit processes.
  • Familiarity with sustainability practices in fleet operations.

Key Relationships

Reports to: Operations Manager

Works closely with: Service Delivery Teams, Finance, Compliance, External Suppliers
