About the Position:

This is a full-time permanent position. Regular hours of work are Monday to Friday 6:15am – 3:30pm, with every second Friday off, and a lunch time finish on the other Friday.

As the GDS Electrician, you will prepare, assemble, install, test, troubleshoot and repair electrical wiring, fixtures, control devices and related equipment used in a variety of GDS products.

Tasks and Responsibilities will include:

  • Inspect, test, and diagnose issues with electrical systems and components.
  • Work collaboratively with team to ensure jobs are fulfilled in a timely fashion and to client satisfaction.
  • Fit, assemble, operate and test electrical components. I.E., soldering small components, hand crimping, circuit testing, fitting electrical components to control panels, point to point wiring.
  • Carry out maintenance, repair and overhaul work as required.
  • Complete site preparation and clean ups.
  • Understand and adhere to all work, health, and safety requirements including wearing PPE and reporting any issues with equipment or work conditions.
  • Providing general labouring assistance to your immediate team and other teams across the organisation when required.

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Have a minimum of 3 years post apprenticeship experience
  • Hold a Current QLD Electrical Licence
  • Dual Trade – Highly Desirable
  • Display high-quality tradesmanship
  • Be able to learn quickly and work unsupervised
  • Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
  • Be comfortable reading and understanding electrical blueprints, schematics, and diagrams
  • Proven knowledge of industry standards and adherence to safe work practices in the electrical field
  • Have a working knowledge of electrical theory, and the associated principles, materials, and equipment
  • Be able to operate hand and power tools associated with electrical work
  • Be able to calculate basic mathematical problems
  • Working at Heights Licence (Preferred)
