Key Responsibilities:
· Review and interpret building plans, specifications, and drawings to identify necessary materials, dimensions, and installation techniques.
· Undertake cavity flashing repairs – remove and replace brickwork
· Brickwork associated with window and door replacement
· Prepare for and install brick ties
· Remove and replace bricks
· Concrete cancer repairs when associated with brick replacement and cavity flashings
· Perform routine maintenance, restoration, and repairs on brick, block, and stone structures.
Qualifications & Skills:
· Must be experienced in remedial building brick work
· AQF Certificate III or AQF Certificate IV in a related trade qualification
· A minimum of one year of full-time (or two years part-time) relevant experience (remedial brick laying)
· Strong understanding of masonry materials, construction techniques, and installation procedures.
· Competence in reading and interpreting technical plans, blueprints, and job specifications.
· Skilled in safely operating a range of manual and power tools for cutting, shaping, and assembling masonry elements.
· Keen attention to detail, ensuring precise alignment, levelness, and clean finishes in all masonry work.
· Physically capable of handling demanding manual tasks and working in a variety of outdoor and indoor environments.
· Familiarity with safe work practices, including the setup and use of scaffolding at restricted heights.
· Problem-solving ability to adapt construction methods and material use to meet project-specific challenges.
· Able to work independently or collaboratively within construction teams, maintaining high productivity and quality standards.
