As a Nurse Practitioner in our Emergency Department, you'll bring advanced assessment, diagnostic and prescribing skills to provide comprehensive, evidence-based care for a diverse patient cohort. Working closely with nursing, medical and allied health teams, you'll champion collaborative practice, strengthen clinical systems, and contribute to education, research and quality initiatives that lift outcomes across the service. About us:
Emerald Hospital is the principal facility of the Central Highlands, supported by hospitals in Blackwater, Springsure and Woorabinda, and primary health services across the wider region. Our ED provides care for approximately 16,000 presentations annually, with a strong culture of teamwork, capability building and delivering great care for Central Queenslanders. About the role:
- Provide advanced, autonomous emergency nursing care within your credentialed NP scope.
- Undertake comprehensive assessment, diagnosis, prescribing, and ordering/interpreting diagnostics.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimise patient outcomes and strengthen service capability.
- Lead and support development of clinical protocols, standards and quality improvement processes.
- Mentor NP candidates and contribute to a culture of learning and capability building.
- Apply evidence, research and data insights to guide practice and service enhancement.
- Participate in change management and service innovation across the Emergency Department.
About you:
- You are an experienced emergency nurse with AHPRA registration and endorsed Nurse Practitioner status.
- You hold (or are completing) a Master of Nursing (Nurse Practitioner) and bring advanced assessment, diagnostic and prescribing capability.
- You thrive in collaborative, multidisciplinary environments and value strong, respectful teamwork.
- You demonstrate sound clinical judgement, critical thinking and the ability to support safe, reliable care.
- You communicate clearly, mentor others generously and build positive professional relationships.
- You lead with curiosity, embrace innovation and contribute to quality, research and service improvement.

What we offer:
Total remuneration value of up to $177,822 p.a. is comprised of:
- An hourly rate between $ $78.59 p.h.
- 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
- 17.5% leave loading
