We're looking for an Irrigation Hand to join our citrus orchard team in Berrigan, New South Wales. This role plays an important part in keeping our irrigation and fertigation systems running efficiently, helping to optimise water use and support the health and productivity of our citrus crops.
As a casual employee, you'll work closely with the irrigation and farm teams to carry out fertigation programs and maintain irrigation infrastructure in line with best agricultural practices.
This is a hands-on, outdoor role involving regular physical activity such as lifting, walking, standing and bending throughout the day.

Responsibilities:
- Undertake day-to-day irrigation tasks as directed, including accurate preparation and mixing of fertiliser
- Implement the weekly fertiliser plan as directed by the Irrigation Manager
- Conduct routine checks on irrigation equipment, resolving or reporting issues promptly
- Operate farm machinery including tractors and forklifts to facilitate irrigation tasks.
- Perform routine maintenance and repair of irrigation equipment and farm machinery.
- Monitor and report stock levels for inputs such as chemicals, fertiliser, PPE and consumables, assisting with restocking as required
- Maintain accurate records for chemical and fertiliser applications, maintenance (including pre-start checks) and irrigation activities
- Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety (WHS) requirements.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and effective irrigation practices.
Qualifications:
- Experience working with irrigation systems – particularly pressurised drip line application systems) is an advantage
- Experience working in a team environment on orchards is desirable, but any sort of operational farm work experience is beneficial.
- Experience operating farm machinery including tractors, light vehicles and forklifts.
- CAR LICENCE IS ESSENTIAL.
- Forklift licence and AgChem Certification is required (or willingness to obtain)
Training will be provided, and there are opportunities for career progression for the right person.
Our general work hours are Monday to Friday, with some weekend work during the busy summer season. Early starts are normal, especially in warmer months.
Pay and conditions are in accordance with the Horticulture Award 2020, with casual positions starting at Level 3 – $32.04/hr.
