Your new team and role:
Join Solvd's Fleet team and help some of Australia's largest businesses get back on the road after an accident. We manage the full claims lifecycle; from lodgement to repair, replacement, settlement, and recovery, delivering fast, fair, and compliant outcomes.
Solvd is looking for a Motor Recovery Claims Consultant to join our energetic Fleet Claims team. You'll be the go-to person for managing motor recovery claims, working with clients, drivers, insurers and third parties to get the best outcomes possible.
You'll dive into liability assessments, negotiate recoveries, and keep everyone in the loop with clear, confident communication, as well as balancing legislative and contractual requirements while delivering top-tier service with a professional and friendly approach.
Please note this is a full time, 12-month fixed-term contract position.
What you'll be doing:
- Managing motor recovery claims from start to finish
- Processing claims accurately and on time, hitting SLAs and KPIs
- Reviewing policy coverage, liability and quantum, and driving recovery strategies
- Keeping notes sharp and systems up to date
- Staying proactive with claimants and keeping them in the loop
- Working within your authority and escalating when needed
- Investigating third parties using internal and external tools
- Owning customer calls and hitting daily contact targets
- Communicating clearly, professionally and with empathy
- Handling complaints with confidence and care
- Chasing recoveries to reduce claim costs for clients and insurers
- Spotting unallocated funds and making sure they're actioned fast
What we're looking for
- 2+ years' experience in motor claims, insurance, or a related space like banking, super or collections
- A solid understanding of motor claims and recoveries is a big plus
- Confident communicator who can handle tough or sensitive conversations with empathy and care
- Super organised, detail-focused and able to juggle multiple claims without missing a beat
- A proactive mindset; you don't wait to be asked, you take the lead and make things happen
- Comfortable navigating complex situations and staying calm under pressure
- A team player who brings good energy and is always up for improving how things are done
- Tech-savvy and confident using systems, MS Office and digital tools to stay on top of your workload
- Bonus points if you know your way around insurance legislation or the General Insurance Code of Practice
- Relevant certifications (such as General Insurance or Insurance Contracts Act) are great to have, but not a dealbreaker
What's in It for you
- Flexible working arrangements, including hybrid work options; we offer a hybrid working model, with 2 to 3 days per week in our Melbourne CBD office.
- To support your onboarding, the initial 3-4 weeks of training will be delivered fully on-site in our Melbourne CBD office.
- Paid parental leave and additional leave options
- Access to health and wellbeing support
- A range of employee perks and discounts on everyday essentials
- A collaborative team environment with regular recognition initiatives
