Job Summary:

DRC Switchboards, a leader in electrical switchboard manufacturing, is expanding and we are on the lookout for a skilled Electrical Fitter to join our dynamic team. As an electrical fitter you will be responsible for assembling, installing electrical components, busbars and wiring. The role will involve working with a variety of electrical components including wiring, circuit breakers and metering. You will be required to interpret electrical drawings and specifications to assemble switchboards.

Skills:

• Proficient in interpreting electrical diagrams and technical drawings

• Strong knowledge of electrical principles and systems

• Ability to use hand and power tools effectively

• Excellent manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination

• Attention to detail with a focus on quality workmanship

• Ability to work independently or as part of a team

• Good communication skills

• Busbar manufacturing experience

• Familiar with AS3000, AS61439 and the Victorian SIR's

Responsibilities:

• Read and interpret electrical diagrams, technical drawings, and instructions.

• Install various electrical components such as circuit breakers, transformers, meters, switches into switchboard enclosures.

• Connect wiring between components using tools such as crimpers or soldering irons.

• Perform quality checks on finished products to ensure they meet specifications.

• Troubleshoot any issues or defects identified during the assembly process.

• Maintain a clean and organized work area.

Qualifications:

• Electrical Fitting trade or equivalent.

• Proven experience working as an Electrical Fitter within the manufacturing industry is preferred.

• Knowledge of relevant Australian electrical standards/regulations (AS/NZS 3000, AS61439 and the Victorian SIR's) is desirable but not mandatory.
