St Philip's Christian College Gilibaa is an Aboriginal school, which commenced in January 2024, catering for Primary students in Kindergarten to Year 6. The school will be located in the new facilities of the St Philip's Christian College Junior School to provide quality Christian education for Aboriginal students, in partnership.

In this role you are expected to:


• Display discretion, confidentiality, honesty and integrity.


• Be positive, self-directed, enthusiastic and motivated.


• Demonstrate adaptability, resilience and the ability to manage work-related pressures.


• Work cooperatively and collectively as a member of a team, participating in planning and team meetings.


• Have experience and proficiency in Aboriginal Education models and implementation within the classroom or willingness to.


• Demonstrate some experience in Aboriginal Education models with preference given to candidates who have practical classroom implementation experience.


• Demonstrate effective conflict resolution skills and strategies.


• Demonstrate a high level of organisational proficiency.


• Have knowledge if and/or desire to grow in Aboriginal culture.


• Desire to learn Gathang language with aspirations to grow towards bilingual teaching.


• Build positive, caring relationships with students, being mindful that they understand the roles

of teacher and student.


• Establish positive relationships with families and community, specifically those of the students

in their direct care.


• Seek to maintain and build upon their professional expertise by participating in appropriate professional development courses including Gathang language.

Applicants must hold a Bachelor of Education or equivalent teaching qualification recognised in NSW.

NSW teacher registration must be obtained before commencement of employment.
