Role Overview

The State Manager – South Australia & Tasmania will provide strategic leadership across tenant and asset operations to ensure effective and efficient service delivery. Reporting to the Chief Operations Officer, the role will lead a team of housing professionals, fostering excellence, collaboration and continuous improvement. This position plays a vital role in driving organisational growth and advancing the mission to deliver high-quality community housing and sustainable outcomes for people in need.

Key responsibilities include :-

  • Managing the housing portfolio performance, utilisation and maintenance;
  • Overseeing financial and asset management for sustainable service delivery;
  • Providing professional leadership and guidance to staff;
  • Building and maintaining strong partnerships across government and community sectors;
  • Driving continuous improvement in tenant engagement and housing outcomes;
  • Identifying opportunities for innovation and service enhancement;
  • Ensuring compliance with organisational policies and regulatory requirements.

Skills, Knowledge, and Experience

The successful candidate will demonstrate exceptional leadership in the not-for-profit or housing sector, with strong commercial and operational acumen. The role requires a comprehensive understanding of social and affordable housing, asset management and stakeholder engagement. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills are essential, along with the proven ability to lead diverse teams. Relevant tertiary qualifications in housing, business, or a related discipline is required, along with a current Australian driver's licence and a valid Working with Children Check and National Criminal History Check. Proven experience in community or social housing is highly regarded.
