About the role
We are seeking an experienced and driven Supply Chain & Logistics Manager to join our team in Maddington, Western Australia. This role is an opportunity to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. As the Logistics Manager, you will play a critical role in overseeing the day-to-day operations of our transport and logistics business, ensuring efficient and effective delivery of our services.
What you'll be doing
- Manage and coordinate all operational activities, including scheduling and maintenance of long distance freight movements
- Oversee the maintenance and upkeep of our vehicle fleet and ensure compliance with relevant safety and regulatory and accreditation requirements such as HACCP, WAHVA.
- Liaise with customers, suppliers, and other stakeholders to address any issues or concerns and maintain strong relationships
- Analyse operational data and identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savings
- Develop and implement strategies to optimise workflows and enhance productivity
- Lead and motivate a team of logistics professionals, providing guidance, training, and performance management
- Ensure the timely and accurate reporting of key performance indicators and operational metrics
What we're looking for
- Extensive experience (5+ years) in a senior operations or logistics management role within the transport and logistics industry
- Strong understanding of transport and logistics operations, including scheduling, dispatch, and fleet management
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to think strategically and implement practical solutions
- Demonstrated leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team
- Proficient in data analysis and the use of relevant software and systems to drive operational efficiency
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with customers, suppliers, and internal teams
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field would be highly regarded
- Strong computer skills, advance Excel skills and use of CMS applications, MT Data or similar.
