Registered Psychologist – 2 days per week

Contract:
Initial 2-year term with the potential for extension or transition into a permanent

position. The role is offered on a percentage-based contract fee; 60% of fee at $265, however, an employment arrangement can also be negotiated if preferred.

The Gut Centre is Australia's first and largest psychogastroenterology clinic, pioneering this field for over 12 years. We specialise in the mind–gut connection and its impact on both mental and physical health. With growing demand, we are now offering an opportunity for a motivated and dedicated Psychologist to join our amazing team.

You'll enjoy the independence of working from our Paddington location while staying connected through

daily remote meet-ups with our wider team across the Sunshine Coast and Melbourne. This role offers the opportunity to make a real and lasting impact on the lives of our patients. With treatment success rates of 70–80%, you'll experience the reward of seeing patients achieve meaningful improvements within just 6–8 weeks.

About Us

At TGC, we support patients experiencing:

  • Gut–brain interaction disorders (e.g. IBS, functional gut symptoms, and IBD counselling)
  • Working with diverse clinical presentations including co-morbid anxiety, depression, trauma, and a range of health and gut-related disorders including disordered eating (including ARFID)
  • Health anxiety, stress management, and general mental health concerns

About the Role

As a Psychologist at TGC you will:

  • Conduct assessments and deliver evidence-based therapies (including CBT, gut-directed psychotherapy, and hypnotherapy
  • Support patients with associated chronic health conditions and general mental
  • health needs
  • Work collaboratively with a passionate team
  • Empower patients to take back control of their health and well-being

Who We're Looking For

  • AHPRA-registered Psychologist (General, Health, Cliical, Clinical Registrar, Newly registered)
  • Interest in health psychology and the gut–brain connection
  • Participation in a short hypnotherapy training program to develop skills in gut-directed hypnotherapy is encouraged
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • A commitment to learning, growth, and delivering excellence in patient care
