Senior Solution Architect – 2 Year Contract

Large Federal Organisation | Sydney based

We're seeking an experienced Senior Solution Architect to join a large federal organisation on a two-year contract. This role provides technical leadership across enterprise and solution architecture, ensuring systems and software are designed and implemented to meet complex business needs in line with government standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and architecture of enterprise and solution-level systems aligned with organisational standards and blueprints.
  • Provide architectural leadership and guidance to analysts, developers, and delivery teams.
  • Develop solution and integration designs, functional specifications, and architecture documentation.
  • Ensure solutions meet government security, scalability, and compliance requirements.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Contribute to architecture governance processes, technical boards, and solution reviews.
  • Support BAU architecture operations and maintain architecture artefacts and repositories.
  • Provide technical input for business cases, proposals, and project estimates.

Skills and Experience

  • Extensive experience as a Solution Architect in complex enterprise environments.
  • Strong background in application and integration architecture, with exposure to platforms such as Dynamics 365, .NET, Boomi, SharePoint, and Azure/AWS.
  • Experience developing architecture blueprints and technology roadmaps.
  • Proven ability to design solutions across APIs, digital platforms, case management, and low-code environments.
  • Familiarity with legacy systems (e.g. mainframe, Siebel, Java, Oracle) beneficial.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • TOGAF certification highly desirable; tertiary qualification in IT or related field required.
