About the Role:

We are seeking skilled and industry experienced mechanical fitters for a full-time, permanent roles based in New South Wales and Queensland. This position requires a high level of expertise, attention to detail, a strong safety culture, and excellent communication skills. The ideal candidate will be proactive, enthusiastic and committed to customer service, working closely with technical advisors and contributing ideas for improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical assistance on OEM and Hire Fleet machinery both onsite and in our Tomago or Mackay workshop.
  • Provide advanced technical troubleshooting and diagnostics of all OEM and Hire Fleet products.
  • Support OEM and our Hire Fleet equipment during longwall relocations
  • Ex DES Code D tasks.
  • Preparation of documentation, effectively and efficiently including shift reports, safety tools and statutory documentation, as well as failure analysis reports and any non-conformance reports.
  • Communicate clearly and regularly with the Cougar Customer Support & Cougar Operations Manager.
  • Recommend and assist in implementing workshop and business improvements in all areas.
  • Identify and drive any business opportunities onsite across all Cougar divisions (Sales, Support, Parts, Engineering).

What we're looking for:

  • Trade qualified.
  • RIISS00030 Explosion Protected Diesel Engine System Maintenance Certificate
  • Generic Underground Induction.
  • Underground coal mining experience (desirable).
  • Underground diesel experience.
  • Excellent Communication Skills.
