What you'll be doing
As a Dietitian Assistant, you will play an essential role in supporting clinical dietitians to provide outstanding nutrition care to hospital patients. Your work will help ensure that patients receive the right nutrition advice, support and meals for their recovery and wellbeing. Key responsibilities will be to:
- Conduct nutrition risk screening and refer 'at risk' patients to Clinical Dietitians
- Assist patients with menu selections and liaise with Food Service staff to meet nutritional needs
- Provide simple nutrition education and interventions under supervision
- Monitor patient progress, maintain accurate clinical records, and update care plans
- Participate in professional development, quality improvement and supervision activities

Selection Criteria:
- Demonstrated understanding and application of provision of clinical support to the Clinical Dietitian.
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of therapeutic diets.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the use of CBORD Diet Office program and its role in hospital nutrition provision.
- Demonstrated good written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work within a team.
- Ability to work a rotating roster including weekends and public holidays.
