As a Stability Post Care (SPC) Practitioner with the Department for Child Protection, you will provide vital support to young adults aged 18–21 as they transition from care. Essential Qualification

• AHP (Allied Health Professional) positions are designed for applicants who hold a Social Work qualification and are eligible for full membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).

Income & Benefits

• Salary: AHP2 – $91,785 – $106,330 p.a. + 12% super
• Exclusive Allowance: Additional 4% for child protection social workers, permanently enshrined in the Enterprise Agreement – making DCP the highest-paying government employer in SA.

• Professional Development:

• $1,000 PD allowance, increasing incrementally each year

• Reimbursement of PD expenses up to $1,000 (AHP2 level)

Additional Allowances

• Qualifications Allowance: Available for eligible higher qualifications relevant to the role.

In this role, you will

• Provide specialised support and advice to young people transitioning from care.
• Build strong relationships with DCP staff, carers, and external agencies.
• Develop and monitor Stability Family Based Care (SFBC) Agreements that support independence.
• Connect young people with community networks, education, and life skills programs.

To be successful

You are a compassionate and skilled professional who thrives on helping young people reach their goals. You bring strong experience working within the child protection or out-of-home care sector, along with the ability to assess needs, solve problems, and connect people with the right supports.

Your communication skills help you build trust quickly, and you value collaboration with carers, colleagues, and community partners. You understand the challenges faced by young people leaving care, including Aboriginal young people, and are committed to creating opportunities for lasting success.
