We are looking for another junior Medical Receptionist who is a quick learner with a keen eye for detail. We want someone who we can train to follow our protocols.  A genetics practice operates differently from a GP or surgical practice and accuracy in handling patient information is essential. No prior experience is necessary - we are happy to teach you everything you need to know.

You are compassionate and professional and you genuinely enjoy interacting with people on the phone. You work well in a team but are also able to work independently, managing your time and prioritising your work load.

Sydney Cancer Genetics is a small, relaxed, private practice located in Ultimo. We see patients who have cancer or are concerned about their inherited cancer risk and we love what we do. We see patients via Telehealth throughout Australia as well as in rooms, so our patients come from a wide variety of backgrounds and ages. This also means most of your interaction with patients will be over the phone or via email rather than face to face, so excellent spoken English and good computer skills are essential.

This is a permanent part-time position. You will work 3 days, Tuesday to Thursday, from 9am to 5pm. Pay based on the Award MA000027 rates (although we pay above award). We are easily accessible by public transport and we are just across the road from the Broadway Shopping Centre.

Essential Criteria:

Ability to follow a protocol and enthusiasm to learn new skills

Excellent written and spoken English.

Competent with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook

Your role will include:

All aspects of patient contact including face to face, phone calls and email

Scheduling appointments and maintaining patient records using Genie

Billing and receipting

Proofing and sending letters via post, email and fax

General care of our private practice rooms
