Ellenbrook, Western Australia Ellenbrook Christian College Full time $60,000 - $100,000 per year

0.6 – 1.0 FTE | Ongoing | Commences on the 1st January 2026

Ellenbrook Christian College (ECC), a thriving Pre-Kindergarten to Year 12 school in Perth's northeast corridor, offers a Christ-centred education that nurtures the spiritual, academic, emotional and social growth of every student. As part of the Swan Christian Education Association (SCEA), ECC is grounded in strong Christian values and committed to equipping students to flourish in life and faith.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Primary Teacher to join our team in an ongoing position commencing on the 1st January 2026, with negotiable hours between 1.0 and 0.6 FTE. In this role, you will work with students from Years 4 – 6, inspiring and equipping students in a faith-centred, hands-on learning environment by combining explicit literacy and numeracy instruction with inquiry-based learning to foster independence, curiosity, and critical thinking in upper primary learners.

This is not just a teaching role — it's a purposeful opportunity to guide, inspire and walk alongside students as they grow in confidence, character, and care. You'll teach with energy and excellence, creating inclusive spaces where students thrive physically, emotionally and spiritually.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Deliver evidence-based, differentiated teaching using explicit instruction—particularly in literacy and numeracy—to strengthen core learning outcomes.
  • Design and implement engaging, inquiry-based learning experiences that promote curiosity, problem-solving, and deep understanding.
  • Use student data and assessment to inform planning, monitor progress, and provide timely, constructive feedback to students and families.
  • Differentiate learning to meet diverse student needs, ensuring all learners are supported and challenged.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, the Pastoral Care team, and parents to ensure consistent support and integration of Christian values in teaching and wellbeing.
  • Contribute actively to the broader life of the College through camps, excursions, and cocurricular programs.

Selection Criteria:

Essential:

  • A personal commitment to the Lord Jesus Christ and active involvement in a Christian Church.
  • Alignment with the Association's Statement of Faith, Foundational Statements of Belief, and Educational Objectives.
  • Demonstrated ability to create engaging, supportive, and well-managed learning environments for upper primary students.
  • Proven experience in delivering explicit instruction in literacy and numeracy.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organisational skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
  • Current Teacher Registration Board of Western Australia (TRBWA) registration and a valid Working with Children Check (WWCC).
  • A summary of relevant qualifications, experience, and achievements aligned with this role.

Desirable:

(Include where appropriate in your response)

  • Experience implementing the Talk for Writing pedagogy.
  • Evidence of integrating inquiry-based learning to deepen student engagement and understanding.
  • A proven capacity to foster high expectations, positive relationships, and a culture of joy in learning.

What We Offer:

  • A purpose-filled teaching role in a vibrant, faith-aligned school community.
  • The opportunity to influence student wellbeing, culture, and lifelong learning.
  • Competitive salary packaging, professional development, and staff support structures.

  • A collaborative, prayerful and supportive Christian work culture.

How to Apply:

If you're a committed educator seeking to make a meaningful contribution as a Primary Teacher, we invite you to apply online via the SCEA website:

We invite you to read the attached information pack that includes the job description with a full list of duties and selection criteria to address. Online applications should be submitted by the 14th November 2025, however shortlisting will begin immediately, and SCEA reserves the right to close this advert before this date.

Applications must include:

  1. A covering letter addressing all the Essential Criteria and a brief statement outlining the competencies you would bring to the role and your reason for applying
  2. A current resume/CV
  3. Copies of qualifications
  4. Copies of current Working with Children Card, TRBWA registration, and Department of Education Police Clearance, or willingness to apply for one.
