Here's your chance to step into a leadership role at one of Narrabri's most iconic pubs — the Tourist Hotel. This is a full-time opportunity for someone passionate about hospitality and ready to lead from the front in a well-established, community-loved venue.

Since opening its doors, the Tourist Hotel has been a local favorite — offering quality service, great food, cold drinks, gaming, accommodation, and entertainment all under one roof. With a newly energized team and exciting events ahead, we're now looking for a strong second-in-charge to support the Venue Manager in taking things to the next level.


About the Role

You'll be across all aspects of the hotel's day-to-day operations — from managing staff and service standards, to compliance, stock, events, back of house and helping drive a positive team culture.

You'll be hands-on and lead by example, helping deliver memorable experiences for both locals and visitors alike.

Key responsibilities:

  • Supporting the Venue Manager in all operational areas
  • Leading and mentoring the team across bar, gaming, kitchen, and accommodation
  • Helping maintain compliance and strong stock control
  • Running a busy weekly event and entertainment schedule
  • Delivering excellent customer service and venue presentation
  • Taking ownership of the functions and events portfolio
  • Promoting a safe, welcoming, and motivated team culture

About You

We're looking for someone with a solid background in hospitality leadership who wants to be part of a fast-paced, community-minded venue. You love a challenge, thrive under pressure, and can bring both structure and fun to a team.

You'll have:

  • Current RSA & RCG Competency Cards (essential)
  • At least 1–2 years' experience in a similar management or 2IC role
  • A strong understanding of day-to-day venue operations
  • Experience in gaming and events/functions (preferred)
  • A people-first leadership style with great communication
  • A proactive, hands-on attitude and commitment to team success
