Position Overview

The Boilermaker is responsible for carrying out welding, fabrication, and repair work on heavy vehicles, trailers, and equipment. This role involves a variety of metalwork tasks to support the maintenance and repair needs of the dealership's service operations.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Perform welding and fabrication work on trucks, trailers, and related equipment.
  • Carry out structural repairs and modifications in accordance with specifications.
  • Interpret technical drawings and plans for fabrication tasks.
  • Operate workshop equipment including MIG, TIG, and arc welders, grinders, and cutting tools.
  • Ensure all work is performed safely and meets quality standards.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area in compliance with OHS policies.
  • Assist with other workshop duties as required, including general maintenance and repair tasks.
  • Communicate effectively with the Workshop Supervisor and Workshop Foreman regarding job status and priorities.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Trade qualification as a Boilermaker or Fabricator.
  • Proven experience in welding and fabrication, particularly in heavy vehicle applications.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Proficiency in MIG, TIG, and arc welding techniques.
  • Commitment to safety and quality workmanship.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
