Who we are
Bright Start Behaviour Support is a small, locally owned business specialising in high quality, neurodiversity affirming behaviour support and psychology services to children and families. We are well known for our out of the box thinking and relationships based approach.
Who we're looking for
We are seeking an experienced Provisional or Generally Registered Psychologist. We need your values to align with a neurodiversity affirming approach and our company values of collaboration, empowerment, connection, creativity, and authenticity. We use a holistic, person centred approach to all of our services, and need you to do the same. Some frameworks we currently draw from are CBT, DBT, ACT, narrative therapy, play therapy, and creative therapies. All of our supports are affirming of neurodiversity, gender, culture, and identity.
We need you to be passionate about helping our clients in the ways that are meaningful to them. We also need you to value being part of a close-knit team who are committed to helping each other grow. We need you to be approachable, compassionate and friendly, and have a strong desire to work hard and have fun at work.
What the role entails:
Assist individuals, their families and support teams to identify individual needs through psychometric assessment, diagnosis, and planning
Assess client needs and how to support those needs being met as part of the development of neurodiversity-affirming behaviour support plans
Ability to work co-operatively and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team, with individuals, families, schools and other stakeholders
Offering support to individuals, children or their families to implement strategies which will improve their capacity to cope, social and emotional wellbeing, and quality of life
Manage a case load and ensure that documentation is kept up to date
Evaluate support provided to clients on an ongoing basis to ensure activities and care provided are consistent with changing client needs
Maintain confidentiality of information
