About the Role

We are seeking casual Forklift Operators to join our dynamic Port Logistics operations in Townsville. We are seeking experience forklift operators with loader experience for our busy warehouse, terminal and bulk shed facility, with some weekend and night shift work.

Key responsibilities:

As a Forklift Operator, your responsibilities will include:

  • Adhering to NSS's Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental guidelines at all times.
  • Participation in Toolbox Talks and actively contribute to resolve production and safety issues at team level.
  • Carry out general housekeeping duties to ensure work areas are kept tidy and free of hazards.
  • Complete daily pre-start checks on machinery.
  • Basic written reports when required.
  • Pick and pack orders.
  • Loading and unloading trucks with bulk and general cargos.
  • Perform other duties as requested by the Port Logistics Manager.

About You

We are looking for candidates who meet the following essential requirements:

  • Current C class drivers' licence
  • Compulsory forklift high risk work licence
  • Loader ticket with experience
  • Excavator, reachstacker and truck driving experience is desirable
  • Strong ability to work autonomously with a proactive approach to task resolution.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to work in a fast-paced and demanding environment.
  • Ability to work effectively within a small team.
  • Regular drug and alcohol testing is conducted.
  • Strong teamwork skills and the ability to work effectively with others.
  • Must be physically fit, with good overall health to meet the demands of the role.
