About the role

Access Cardiology is seeking an enthusiastic and professional team member to join our practice in a dual role as Medical Receptionist / Cardiac Technician. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about patient care, enjoys variety in their workday, and thrives in a professional healthcare environment.

You will play a key role in both front-of-house administration and clinical cardiac testing, contributing to the smooth running of the practice and the delivery of high-quality diagnostic services.

You will be an integral part of the team that is passionate about making a difference to the lives of those we care for while making a positive contribution to the overall standard of care delivered.

Reporting directly to the Practice Manager your main duties will include:

Front Office / Administration

• Meet and greet patients, providing a welcoming and professional experience
• Register patients, assist with forms, consent and insurance documentation
• Manage patient appointments, hospital bookings, and follow-up scheduling
• Answer and triage phone calls, respond to enquiries, and manage correspondence
• Process patient payments and maintain accurate billing in line with Medicare compliance
• Maintain patient records, ensuring accuracy, privacy and confidentiality (Privacy Act 1988)
• Support doctors and staff with clerical tasks and contribute to practice improvement initiatives
• Keep reception and work areas clean, stocked and well-organised

Cardiac Testing

• Perform Ambulatory Blood Pressure (ABP), Holter and ECG monitoring, including device placement, removal and patient instructions
• Upload and manage patient data within electronic medical records in accordance with privacy policies
• Coordinate and prioritise urgent bookings and ensure timely communication of results to referring doctors
• Troubleshoot and maintain equipment/software, ensuring accurate reporting
• Restock consumables and maintain hygiene standards for ECG machines and testing areas

• Experience in medical reception and/or cardiac testing preferred (training provided for the right candidate)
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a strong patient-care focus
• Organised, efficient and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment
• Knowledge of Medicare billing, privacy legislation, and medical software (e.g. Health Track, Genie) desirable
• Strong technical aptitude and attention to detail
• Current driver's license essential
