Software Engineer

Full-Time Role

Pivotal Engineering Pty Ltd
 specialises in engineering, management, and consulting, providing outstanding engineering services to the world's leading mining companies and other industries. We stand out from the competition thanks to our exceptional flexibility, reputation, and commitment to delivering quality results. We are currently expanding our technical team, and are looking for a Software Developer to join our Perth team. The role will involve working on both internal systems and projects for clients.

What You'll Do

  • Be responsible for maintaining and continual development of the company's in-house developed ERP system
  • Work on bespoke customer solutions connecting OT devices to the enterprise layer

What We're Looking For

3-5 years of experience in software development through previous roles.

Tertiary qualifications in software engineering, computer science, or related technical discipline is preferred but not necessary depending on experience

Excellent communication & collaboration skills – specifically with the ability to bridge the gap between technical teams and business stakeholders

Knowledge about contemporary software development standards, security standards, principles and best practices.

Passion for staying up-to-date with the latest technologies and trends in the industry

Proactive, resourceful, and able to drive innovation in a dynamic environment

Technical Skills

  • Strong proficiency in, and ability to understand and refactor legacy 
    Python
     code
  • Solid knowledge of 
    HTML5
    , 
    CSS3
     and 
    Git
  • Experience connecting backends to external RESTful APIs
  • Capability to leverage AI tools
     for enhanced coding productivity
  • Strong proficiency in writing complex queries for 
    Microsoft SQL
  • Experience creating reports using various reporting tools such as MS Report Builder.
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as MS Azure or AWS is desirable, though not essential

Soft Skills

  • Open to feedback and keen to grow
  • A sharp eye for detail to ensure flawless UI experiences
  • Strong communication skills

Bonus Skills

  • Familiarity with
