Apprentice Carpenter

We are seeking a self-motivated, enthusiastic and reliable individual to undertake an apprenticeship in carpentry for a small but growing high end residential building company located in Leichhardt. Our work sites are located mostly in Sydney's Eastern Suburbs, Inner West and Lower North Shore. Learn and be involved in all aspects of building from start to finish on a project.

This role is for an immediate start.

Applicants are required to:

  • Be well-presented, reliable and possess an honest work ethic
  • Be physically fit
  • Must hold a current NSW drivers licence and own transport
  • A desire to learn
  • Good maths and problem solving abilities
  • Have a white card prior to commencing work

Role and Responsibilities:
- Carefully following the instructions of the site supervisor/s
- Good verbal communication skills
- Undertaking manual labour
- Undertake Cert 3 Carpentry at TAFE
- Perform all carpentry tasks on site
- Required to gain LR truck licence and drive as required (training paid for by MIH Built)

  • Wall and floor framing
  • Roofing
  • Fit out (architraves/skirting/doors, etc)
  • Flooring
  • Wall cladding (metal/cement sheet/timber)
  • Set out, and how to read and interpret plans and specifications
  • Concreting
  • Decking
  • Steel fabrication and installation
  • Excavation
