About the Role (your why)
This is an intermediate role that will provide exposure to a wide range of projects to further your FinOps career. You will have access top training platforms, decades of experience within the team and practical opportunities to test and refine your FinOps skills
As a FinOps Analyst, you will support our customer engagements, assessing their needs, and leading the development and implementation of a CFM roadmap, and guiding our customers in meeting their FinOps Goals
Please note, this is a 12-month Fixed Term Contract. To be eligible for the role you will need to be living in Australia and hold Australian Citizenship status or Permanent Residency.
Our offices are based in Adelaide, Brisbane, Canberra, Sydney, Melbourne and Perth. We like to bring people together in person when we can, but we are mindful of the benefits of working from home for work/ life balance. We therefore leave it to you and the team you join to figure out what works best
What you'll do
At the moment, as FinOps Analyst you will be focused on:
- Be a trusted advisor for how best to manage and mature our customer's CFM practice
- Guide and inspire our customers on how to meet their Cloud management goals
- Lead workshops, training, business process design and governance content creation
- Participate in continuous improvement of our products and service delivery
- Own the end-to-end customer outcome
We are a pretty agile company, and are keen to respond to customer, technology and internal stakeholders' changing requirements and this can mean we evolve in our roles to meet those needs
What you'll bring
Required experience:
- You'll be a Cloud Native who understands the benefits of Cloud, emerging technology, automation, and enabling a FinOps culture
- Have a strong understanding of Public Cloud financial and technical concepts and cloud delivery models.
- Have 5+ years' experience in a similar customer facing or end user aligned role, e.g. Software Asset Management, Capacity Management, IT Asset management, or IT governance
- Understand Business and Commercial concepts e.g. corporate structure, Capex/Opex reporting requirements, charge back / show back process, commercial agreements, budget/forecast and planning strategy etc...
- Understand of the FinOps framework and industry best practices for cloud cost management, including cost and usage optimisation and effective cloud governance
- Confident in presenting and leading discussions with key stakeholders, while effectively collaborating with multiple cross-functional teams (engineering, finance, procurement, etc.)
- Have worked with Cloud Native and 3rd Party Cloud Platform Management tooling, e.g. AWS Cost Explorer, Azure Cost Management, Cloudhealth, Cloudability etc.
Nice to have:
- Have 3+ years of experience working with Cloud Commercials and AWS or/and Azure
- Have 3+ years of managing client engagements or managing cloud estates for an end-user company
- Relevant Public Cloud or FinOps related certificates (such as AWS Cloud Practitioner, Azure Fundamentals, FinOps Practitioner etc)
