Sydney Freezers is the #1 in Food Service, providing and distributing an extensive range of products to businesses throughout Greater Sydney, Wollongong, Newcastle, and Canberra. Our extensive product range provides customers with a one-call solution to all their food service needs.

We specialize in small goods, fresh meat, fresh poultry, frozen seafood, dry and frozen goods, packaging, and chemicals. We also provide our own brand of oil, flour, and fries.

Delivery operations occur 6 days per week and customers have the ability to order their products 24 hours a day through our online ordering system. Alternatively, they can contact our customer service team directly Monday to Friday between 9 am – 5 pm.

About the Role

The Storeman is responsible for receiving, handling, packing and maintaining the warehouse's dry and cold goods.

Afternoon Shift Sunday to Friday 4pm- 12am. (5 days per week)

· Unload goods from trucks being received by the warehouse

· Receive goods and check details against orders placed. Advise Stock Controller of any discrepancies.

· Inspect received goods for damage and advise relevant parties in accordance with company procedures

· Move goods around the warehouse and replenish shelves

· Update bin/rack locations for all goods and stock on hand counts to the Stock Controller

· Ensure all goods are transported and stacked in a safe manner, with extra care taken when dealing with bulk goods

· Pick goods from shelves for customer orders and record their movements in accordance with company procedures

· Load goods for dispatch as and when required

· Advise Logistics Manager and Stock Controller of any out-of-stock products

· Participate in stock counts and inventory reconciliation as and when required

· Regularly check goods for expiry dates or soon to be out of date products and advise the Logistics Manager

What do we offer?

· Monday to Friday from $31.23/ hour

· Public holiday $68.70/hour with a minimum of 4 hours payout

· + overtime + super

· 5 days roster per week

About You

· Strong attention to detail

· Physically fit and able to lift/carry items up to 25kg and able to walk, stand, bend and lift for prolonged periods

· Previous 2-3 years of experience in warehouse work environment (required)

· Voice Pick and RF Scanning Experience

· Good communication skills that reflect a professional but friendly approach to liaise effectively with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures.

· Highly motivated with good interpersonal and communication skills so has the ability to work effectively in a team or independently with minimal supervision.

· Ability to work well in a busy environment, multitask several duties at once while remaining calm under pressure.

· Possess a sound level of problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions as per company standard operating procedures and recognising when to escalate issues to management.
