Role Oveview

The Network Engineer will be responsible for designing, configuring, and validating secure and reliable network connectivity between Salesforce, CDS Cloud, and various enterprise platforms. The role involves ensuring that all data traffic across hybrid cloud environments is compliant with organizational security and transport network policies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, configure, and validate network connectivity between Salesforce, CDS Cloud, and enterprise systems.
  • Implement and manage firewall configurations, VPN/IPSec tunnels, DNS, load balancing, and routing protocols across hybrid (on-premises and cloud) environments.
  • Collaborate with security, infrastructure, and application teams to ensure seamless integration and secure data flows.
  • Monitor network performance and implement proactive measures to ensure reliability, scalability, and compliance with Transport's network and cyber policies.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve connectivity and performance issues across multi-cloud and on-prem network segments.
  • Document network topologies, connectivity diagrams, and configuration standards.
  • Support network risk assessments, incident response, and periodic security audits.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Proven experience in network design, configuration, and troubleshooting in hybrid cloud environments.
  • Hands-on expertise in configuring and managing:
  • Firewalls (Cisco, Palo Alto, Fortinet, or equivalent)
  • VPN/IPSec tunnels and secure connectivity
  • DNS, load balancing, and routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, etc.)
  • Strong understanding of Salesforce and CDS Cloud (or equivalent data/cloud integration platforms).
  • Familiarity with cloud networking (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and on-prem connectivity models.
  • Working knowledge of network monitoring and logging tools.
  • Experience implementing network security and compliance standards.
  • Excellent analytical, documentation, and communication skills.
