About the Role:

We're seeking a collaborative Senior Engineer for a team working on key initiatives. In this role, you'll work with stakeholders and engineers to design and implement solutions that balance quality, cost, time, and maintainability. You'll collaborate with the team and Lead Engineer to prioritise work, simplify solutions, and deliver business value. Additionally, you'll mentor engineers, delegate tasks to empower the team, and support the growth of yourself and others.

You'll be joining the Customer Projects & Workflow team, a full-stack team focused on making project-based work seamless within Elements, our flagship product. Elements is a subscription-based platform offering a vast library of creative assets, designed to help designers and creatives bring their ideas to life effortlessly.

• Writing clean, well thought out and reliable code.
• Actively contribute to identifying and mitigating risks.

• Working on strategic initiatives, tactical improvements and maintenance.

• Taking ownership. Caring about the quality and impact of the systems you build and maintain.

• You likely have 5 years of full stack development experience.
• You have solid experience with React (or a similar framework) and are comfortable working with front-end technologies like HTML, CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript, and JSON.
• You are proficient in Ruby on Rails or an equivalent framework, such as Python with Django.
• You have experience working with relational databases, such as PostgreSQL, and understand best practices for performance and scalability.
• You have experience with cloud infrastructure platforms (e.g., Terraform, Cloudflare, AWS), with openness to other platforms as well.
• You value learning from others, no matter their experience level, and seek constructive feedback.
• Collaboration is important to you, and you thrive in a team where everyone shares ownership and works together to solve problems.
• You use engineering practices that emphasize maintainability and clarity, applying testing and refactoring techniques when appropriate to solve business problems effectively.
• You are comfortable sharing knowledge, up-skilling and mentoring others.
• You evaluate trade-offs in your decisions, balancing the need for experimentation and rapid iteration with the operational realities of production systems and a commitment to keeping our community safe and secure.
