Wadawurrung/Geelong based role (hybrid working model - 3 days a week in office)
About the opportunity
As the Claims Analyst you will be manage a portfolio of individual claim files related to serious and fatal incidents along with WorkSafe Agents, supporting injured workers and families through the claims process. You will also provide policy and operational support to WorkSafe Agents and internal clients to help meet key objectives.
In addition you will also provide broader support to strategic priorities, programs and other projects within the business.
This is an opportunity to play a key role in supporting the most vulnerable cohort within the scheme and work on exciting initiatives related to policy and process design.
Key accountabilities:
- Provide expert advice on injury claims work practices at both case level and system wide claims management
- Investigate and research the most effective procedures to support cost savings in claims management
- Partner with key stakeholders and across the broader organisation to deliver key project milestones for Strategic Priorities and Strategy programs
- Provide expert technical advice to senior management on issues, initiatives and trends relating to claims management
- As required conduct audits on the effectiveness of claim is processes, work practices and high value claim management with a view to recommending improvements

About you
You will be an experienced analyst with strong interpersonal, communication and influencing skills with the ability to engage with and manage a diverse group of both internal and external stakeholders.
You will be someone who is self-motivated and is able to take initiative to deliver key outcomes, whilst also being able to manage challenging and sensitive situations.
Skills and experience:
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of the principles and operation of WorkSafe and the Accident Compensation Act 1985
- Recognised expertise in injury claims case management at a claim by claim level, particularly in respect to Workers Compensation claims
- Demonstrated ability to design, develop and implement multi-faceted programs / systems / procedures
- Expert level of knowledge of entitlement to compensation
- Project management experience
- Ability to analyse data and develop strategies
