The Role
This is an exceptional opportunity for a visionary and strategic educational leader to contribute to one of Western Australia's most prestigious public schools. As Vice Principal, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of Perth Modern School through strategic leadership, systems thinking, and transformational change. Working closely with the Principal and Leadership Team, you would lead initiatives aligned with the school's Business Plan, particularly in the area of Inspirational Leadership, while also displaying effective leadership across all four Key Focus Areas. You would act in the Principal's role as required and contribute to whole-school planning, resource allocation, and strategic decision-making, fostering a high-performing, future-focused school culture.

Your portfolio should span strategic workforce planning, curriculum innovation, performance management and development, policy implementation, compliance, and system development. You will ideally lead the strategic alignment and optimisation of key operational systems, including Compass, Integris-SIS, SSO, RAMS and HRMIS, to support high-quality teaching and learning for gifted students. A deep understanding of timetabling is highly desirable, as you would plan and manage a complex and dynamic schedule that underpins curriculum delivery and resource allocation. You should also coordinate key school committees and lead recruitment, professional learning, and workforce selection processes, ensuring compliance with mandatory training and registration, to maintain a safe, inclusive, and high-functioning school environment.

You should model and embed the conditions that underpin high-quality teaching across all career stages, and lead, coach, and mentor a team of highly effective leaders. With access to Western Australia's most talented students, you will ideally be empowered to drive enrichment and extension opportunities, combining strategic planning, change management, and community engagement. Many of these activities occur outside regular school hours, and your leadership would be key in implementing, supporting, and attending these events.

Central to the role is your ability to evaluate evidence and lead collaborative cycles of school review to ensure the delivery of curriculum and associated programs. You would be responsible for analysing and reporting on the Measures of Success outlined in the Business Plan, using data to inform continuous improvement across all focus areas. In doing so, you will ideally build the capacity of leaders across the school to analyse performance and respond to student needs, contributing to a thriving community where everyone belongs, those present are empowered, and the future is shaped for gifted learners and leaders.
