Role Description
We are seeking and experienced rope access painter to join our team. This person will have excellent communication and inter-personal skills, be organised and able to manage their time efficiently; excellent problem-solving skills to contend with unexpected issues on site. They will also need to support and uphold the collegiate culture of the company and support team members on site.
Responsibilities
- Maintaining and inspecting roof safety systems, recognising and reporting faults.
- Performing maintenance on buildings via rope access/abseiling, including concrete repairs, painting, silicone works, and other minor repairs
- Cleaning of building facades via rope access/abseiling
- Maintaining equipment and equipment registers
- Maintaining equipment and vehicles in good working order
- Supervising teams on site
- Good communication skills are required to work co-operatively with other staff, technicians, contractors and engineers on site, as well as meet and liaise with on-site contacts including clients, building managers, construction site managers etc
- Working to Safe Working Method Statements (SWMS)
- Completing jobs in the time frame specified
- Preparing work areas with drop zone bollards. Further preparing the area with drop sheets to protect the site from paint and residue.
- Erecting scaffolding and ladders.
- Attention to detail in preparing surfaces. Knowledge of filling, smoothing and sealing.
- Removal of previous coverings including paint and wallpaper
- Selecting paint/s – and colour matching. Skilled in the process of catalyzing and mixing correct portions of pigment, oil, and thinning and drying additives
- Applying paints, varnishes and stains to surfaces using brushes, rollers and sprays
- Hanging wallpaper, matching patterns and trimming edges
- Basic skills in repairing windows and replacing glass in both wooden and metal frames
- Basic skills in repairing and laying wall and floor tiles
- Cleaning equipment and work areas
- Always keeping the work area and surroundings clean and tidy
Minimum Required Qualification
- Level 2 IRATA
- Certificate III in Painting and Decorating
- Licences : White Card, Drivers Licence
