Cape Dunstans stands at the forefront of Australia's Utility and Mining Services sector, with a legacy of over three decades in the industry. As an integral part of the CFC group, Cape Dunstans operates as a dynamic service business with a primary focus on project delivery. Our highly skilled teams specialise in the installation of cabling for power and communication infrastructure, alongside expertise in pipeline solutions for water, gas, sewer, and stormwater applications. 

Due to the award of the Network Renewal of Underground Power project (NRUPP) for Western Power, which in collaboration with local government is aimed at delivering the benefits of underground power to their communities, we are seeking Directional Drillers to join our teams for this long term project

The ideal candidates will be responsible for operating drilling equipment, ensuring safety protocols are followed and assisting with the installation of underground utilities. These positions require a strong work ethic, attention to detail, hands on attitude and a commitment to high safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate drilling rigs and equipment for underground installations (electrical).
  • Set up and maintain drilling equipment, ensuring proper functionality and safety measures.
  • Perform routine inspections and maintenance of equipment.
  • Work with supervisors and team members to plan and execute drilling projects effectively.
  • Monitor drilling processes to ensure optimal performance and safety.
  • Adhere to all safety guidelines and industry regulations during operations.
  • Assist with troubleshooting and resolving mechanical issues on-site.

Minimum requirements

  • Construction Induction (White Card)
  • Driver's Licence (HR Class minimum)
  • Drilling cert III (for drillers)
  • Relevant operating tickets
  • Ability to read and interpret site plans & DBYD drawings

  • Western Power Network Authority Card
  • Western Power Green card
  • First Aid Certificate
  • Cable Laying Certificate
  • Identify, Locate & Protect Underground Services
  • Cert III Trenchless Technology
