Sydney, New South Wales, Australia The Extroverts Full time $80,000 - $120,000 per year

Role Description:

The Software Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining software applications that meet business and user requirements. This role involves working across the full software development lifecycle — from conceptualization and architecture design to implementation, deployment, and continuous improvement. The ideal candidate is a problem-solver with strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and a passion for building scalable, efficient, and high-quality software solutions.

Key responsibilities include developing clean, maintainable, and efficient code using modern programming languages and frameworks. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams — including product managers, designers, and other engineers — to translate business needs into robust technical solutions. The Software Engineer will participate in code reviews, conduct system testing, troubleshoot issues, and contribute to ongoing optimization efforts to enhance performance and user experience.

This role also involves contributing to technical documentation, adhering to best practices in version control and software architecture, and ensuring compliance with security and data protection standards. You may also assist in automating processes, integrating third-party services, and improving development workflows through DevOps or CI/CD practices.

The Software Engineer plays a crucial role in driving innovation, scalability, and reliability within the organization's technology infrastructure. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies, collaborate in an agile development environment, and directly influence product quality and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical field. A Master's degree or relevant certifications (e.g., AWS, Microsoft, Google, or DevOps) is an advantage.
  • 2–6 years of professional experience in software development, engineering, or related roles.
  • Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Python, Java, C#, JavaScript, TypeScript, or C++.
  • Experience with modern frameworks and libraries such as React, , Spring Boot, Django, or .NET Core.
  • Strong understanding of object-oriented programming, design patterns, and software architecture principles.
  • Familiarity with relational and non-relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, etc.).
  • Knowledge of RESTful API design, microservices architecture, and cloud-based solutions (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
  • Proficiency with version control systems (Git, GitHub, GitLab) and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience working in agile or scrum environments, with strong collaboration and communication skills.
  • Problem-solving mindset with attention to code quality, testing, and performance optimization.
  • Ability to learn quickly, adapt to new technologies, and contribute to team-driven development goals.
  • Strong sense of responsibility, innovation, and commitment to building software that delivers real-world impact.
