Postino Osteria is seeking a strong and experienced Restaurant Manager to lead our traditional Italian neighbourhood osteria with a 130 capacity.
We value big personalities, Italianity, and passion in our team members, so if you have prior experience with Italian cuisine and are ready to showcase your hospitable, charismatic, and neighbourhood-loving personality, we want to hear from you
Essential Requirements:
· Fluent in English, spoken and written
· Hold a current RSA Certificate
· Full Australian working rights
· Computer literacy is a must
· 12-36 months restaurant management experience and/or
· Formal hospitality studies completed
· Great memory for faces and ability to engage customers and staff and build excellent rapport
· Italian food & wine knowledge
· Polite personal manner, both face to face and over the phone
· Ability to multi-task
· Understanding of hospitality cost control measures
· Ability to keep cool under pressure
· Strong team leading skills
· Excellent attention to detail
· Excellent grooming standards
· Hours can vary and include weekend and holiday work
Preferred Requirements:
· Formal wine studies completed
· Experience with SevenRooms or other online reservations platform
· Experience with setting up POS
· Speak Italian? Bonus
· Venue opening experience
Your tasks and responsibilities:
· Rostering in line with budgetary guidelines
· Maintaining clear communications between FOH & BOH teams
· Ensuring the smooth and consistent delivery of service
· Delivery of daily staff briefings prior to every service
· Daily, weekly & monthly operations & financial reporting
· Maintaining in-venue compliance in line with WHS and licensing minimum requirements
· Performance managing assistant managers
