In this role, you'll:
You'll join the team at our Heavy Plant Depot in Clyde, working on specialised Track Maintenance Machines that support Sydney Trains across the Greater Sydney region. These machines are vital to maintaining critical rail infrastructure for the safe and efficient movement of both passenger and freight trains. This shift-based position (including nights, weekends, and public holidays) involves diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining complex hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, and electrical systems. You'll also carry out basic fitting, machining, and welding tasks in both workshop and field environments.This is a shift-based position and includes nights, weekends, and public holidays. The Pay Grade Scale is AVP 4.2 ($89,155). You will be required to travel, live away from home and work some night shifts for a geographical area that will cover from Newcastle to Bathurst and down to Berry.

About you
You're a qualified tradesperson with a Certificate III in Mobile Plant Technology or Automotive Electrical Technology (or an equivalent qualification). Ideally, you also hold a Certificate IV in Fluid Power Control, although this isn't essential. You're a collaborative team player who works safely and confidently both in a group and independently. You thrive on working with complex plant machinery and enjoy problem-solving in hands-on environments. You bring experience using Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) as diagnostic tools, can interpret hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and mechanical schematics, and are comfortable using computers and tablets as part of your workflow.
