We are looking for reliable and hard-working Kitchenhands to be the engine room of our busy kitchen. You will provide vital support to our Chefs and Cooks, ensuring the kitchen remains clean, organised, and well-stocked.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate commercial dishwashers, ensuring all crockery, cutlery, and glassware are properly cleaned and sanitised.
- Scrub and clean heavy kitchen equipment, including pots, pans, and woks, to a high standard.
- Assist Cooks with basic food preparation, such as washing, peeling, and chopping vegetables
- Maintain the cleanliness and hygiene of all kitchen surfaces, floors, and storage areas (including cool rooms and freezers).
- Receive, unpack, and correctly store food and beverage deliveries, ensuring proper stock rotation.
- Dispose of all kitchen rubbish and recycling regularly and safely.
- Ensure all cleaning and sanitation practices comply with food safety (HACCP) standards.
- Follow all WHS procedures and promptly follow instructions from the kitchen leadership team.
Requirements:
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a Kitchenhand in a busy commercial kitchen.
- Minimum High School (or equivalent) graduation, relevant vocational training in commercial cookery is preferred.
- Must be physically fit, able to stand for long periods, and capable of lifting heavy items (e.g., stock pots, rice bags).
- A strong work ethic, reliability, and the ability to work well in a team.
