About the business
Wirreanda on Wheatsheaf Surgery is an independent, GP owned business with over 20 years of service to the Morphett Vale community. We pride ourselves on our reputation as a general practice that provides the highest quality of medical care and with one of our GPs an RACGP SA Faculty member, we are always looking to innovate, improve and raise the prestige of general practice. We are a small collaborative team, committed to teaching the next generation of general practitioners and providing a supportive and dynamic environment to work in.
Our two practice principals are Dr Clare Keogh and Dr Nina Holmwood, both of whom have been closely involved in practice management in recent years, building on the legacy of this well-established practice from their colleagues and previous owners.
About the role
We are looking for an innovative, motivated and hands-on person to manage our practice's day to day operations and work closely with the leadership team to ensure the continued sustainability of the business. The role would be FTE (Monday to Friday) and the successful candidate must have flexibility at certain times to increase hours as work flow dictates.
Our established, well loved Practice Manager, Kerrie, is retiring. There will be a supported transition phase of training from Kerrie and the Team.
Knowledge of the health care sector is essential and the responsibilities include:
- Management of day-to-day operations
- HR management including recruitment, development and training, performance management
- Financial management and oversight of payroll
- IT and medical software knowledge and oversight of practice management systems
- Safety and quality improvement activities
- Compliance with legislative, contractual and accreditation requirements
- Managing the 3 yearly accreditation process
- Maintain current knowledge of changes to the Medicare Benefits Schedule
- Engagement and management of third parties
- Support the ownership and leadership team
- Support a harmonious, cheerful and engaging practice environment
About you:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to foster positive relationships with the team and community
- A professional manner and a genuine commitment to deliver high quality patient care, including managing patient complaints
- Experience in the health care industry, with experience in a general practice setting most advantageous
- Experience managing human resources
- Experience with MYOB Account Right and payroll preferred
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- General proficiency in practice management software - or be willing to learn
Experience as a Practice Manager is well regarded but not essential
If you're looking to move into your next leadership role, experience as a senior administrative officer or assistant practice manager would be required
- Experience with the accreditation process
